Punjab Burning!


An Open letter to the people of Punjab.

Dear People of Punjab,

Yes,You are angry.I know.I know you have been deeply hurt because of the desecration of The Holy Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.And you have the right to a 'Peace Protest',but what kind of a protest is it? A protest where you block roads,disrupt traffic, forcibly shut down shops, demand resignations and relay speeches which instigate violence? Your loud speakers are blaring near my house with so called your peaceful hymns! NO!This is no peace protest. Your initial protest theme has reached an altogether different level, where you are demanding resignations and are adamant to prove to the world about the glory of your religion.
Also, if it is a peace protest, why bring the dead past of 1984 alive again? Why fuel today's issues with the fire of 1984?

Where were you and your peace protest when people took to swords in the Golden temple for a little speech issue a few years ago?Or when people among you were supplying drugs?Or Drinking and beating their wives?When they openly eve tease your girls? When they openly flaunt their illegal arms and ammunitions?

If you are so upset with the Badal government, why did you put it to power in the first place.Why worship him like a hero?

Think wisely people of Punjab. Religion isn't about a Holy book alone. But a lot of things which are there in it in words! Have you been able to live to its words completely? You are so upset and angry about Pages being torn from the Holy Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, and never for once get pinched when you stab it to death every day with your misdeeds and Evil!
O people who are you to punish the culprits? I am sure even Waheguru Ji would choose to forgive the unfortunate soul who did this for reasons unknown to us! You have but just one  power at your disposal. That is to pray. To pray for him,for the onewho committed this grave sin. Can you have the heart to forgive him? Can you be a grain like what Almighty,All compassionate, All knowing Waheguru Ji is? Can you forgive?

It is the same time of the year again. Carol Singing, Yummy cakes and great dinning with family and friends. But somehow this year I don't feel that it should end here. Somehow it is just not about going for the midnight mass and listening to sermons pointlessly. I feel as the times are changing and the world is witnessing the biggest and the deadliest of  problems, we need to reflect upon some things.
