Dreams...Blessing or a curse?

She noticed it was getting dark outside, as she crossed over the street from her house to enter the one room set situated at the opposite corner.  “You are back!?” they said in unison. “Of course! Had to come!” she said smiling as she got in to the bed next to her friends. This is what she loved about their friendship. The fact that how so many girls and boys lived under one roof, cooked together, ate together. And the fact, that in a world full of craziness this was possible! And it was the only sane thing according to her…
“Let’s get going!” said someone among them, breaking her free from her continuous chain of thoughts. “It’s beautiful outside. Let’s go by the sea side…”
They hurriedly got ready, each one of them getting ready, pushing and pulling each other. Still amazing her how a bunch of girls and boys could maintain such a neutral relationship with each other even after being together 24 x 7!
“It’s getting dark and I feel a storm is building. Look at the clouds, they look senile!” She said, her face filled with horror. Something about the weather today was making her feel very uncomfortable.
“Get moving lazy ass! And stop whining for once!” Said P, giving her a slight friendly push toward the road.
“Stop it P! I don’t want to trip over and break my nose!” she laughed out as it started raining, water droplets falling on her skin, making her feel alive. Rain always did that to her, unleashed her true self. She felt free, she felt innocent, she felt like a child again…
“Stop whining…” she heard a voice in the distance as she found herself alone on the road.
Alone? Where have they all gone! She questioned terrorized as she looked frantically everywhere trying to locate one of them. And then…she ran... May be a minute, two minutes… ten minutes…an hour… a day? It felt like eternity. The road would not end neither did the rain.  Her head was aching, her limbs felt heavy, she was fighting for breath and her sight grew dim both due to rain and tears. Just when she was about to give up and fall flat on the road she saw a dim light across the road.
Yes! That’s it. That’s the house. She half-hopped half-walked across the street and pushed open the door just to discover another horror waiting for her.
“What! Why are you people so gloomy! Whats up with you all?” she said visibly irritated and anxious.
“We don’t know where P and his friend are.”
“It’s been hours since we haven’t seen them. They had gone to the sea side…” said a voice. Yes the face had turned into a voice for her because all she could think of right now was a wild sea gulping down on her dear friend P.
And then she had a vision. Dark, rain, storm and the wild sea. Someone was shouting. Two different voices. “Keep swimming; don’t give up buddy, just f***ing keep swimming.” That was P speaking to his friend.
Blood… there was blood everywhere. P’s friend was bleeding. He had hurt his leg. His face was a pale yellow. Was he even breathing?
“We are almost there…”said P. Why was his voice sounding so weak….

“Hello people!” said a voice as the door opened with a thud jolting her out of her vision. It was P and his friend. Suddenly the room was full of activity. A total mayhem. Somebody screaming, somebody crying, somebody cussing. P and his friend were lost in the crowd narrating their story of a miraculous escape from a shark. She witnessed the may hem in total silence. She couldn't move. Visions did that to her.
“You were almost dead” She choked on her words as she saw P standing in front of her, all covered in blood, and whatever was left of his torn shirt. His shoulders scratched, his arms flexed, out of the struggle he had just endured. But he smiled the same beautiful smile.
“I am fine, see!” P said opening his arms to only reveal blood filled wounds.
She hugged him tight and cried. “I almost lost you! You idiot!” she said. And all she did was cry. She cried like she hadn't shed a tear for ages. It was pain, it was anger, it was hurt, it was failure… it was everything….

“Wake up honey! WAKE UP!” shouted a voice…
As she adjusted her eyes to the morning light she realized she had been dreaming again.
“Why are you crying!?” Asked her anxious exasperated husband. “You just would not get up… I had to literally shake you out of your sleep!” He said worried.
“Nothing it was just a bad dream…”
